The Tarot Spread. There are several ways of dealing the cards in order to do a reading, but my personal favourite is the Ten-Card Spread, or The Celtic Cross. This enables me to see the distant past influences on the questioner, the near future influences, the underlying desires from the subconscious for a particular outcome, and the conscious wishes of the Questioner towards a specific goal. The relationship of the cards to each other will also point to outside influences or particular people which may affect the Querant, and indicate a final result regarding the Querant, or the question, if all influences and circumstances surrounding him or her remain unchanged. | The Tarot Deck I like to use a pack called The Tarot of the Cat People, and have learned to relate easily to the cards throughout the time I have been using them. The personal connection I have with this pack is extremely powerful and I feel that the artwork on the cards speaks for itself. I use the Tarot deck as a vehicle to achieve mental clarity. I see it as a way of stepping back from our involvement in our troubles and problems, becoming more objective and taking a look at the bigger picture. Every so often in our lives, it becomes necessary to stop and assess our situation and circumstances. The Tarot can help to focus our thoughts and feelings in a positive direction. The Tarot may or may not be considered to contain magical or mystical powers, but we, as individuals, all posess the intuition, intellect and attributes we need to gain insight and foresight towards attaining our goals.
